

Southern Dance House
Funded by HE Interaction, Ergao Dance Production Group (EDPG) re-established Southern Dance House in ZuoTan Village, Shunde. Its pivotal focuses contain community dance practices such as physical participation and expression in public life, daily life and folklore activities, and so forth. As a curator/planner, EDPG has initiated participatory dance programs, community art creations, interdisciplinary residency programs, research and archives exhibitions, etc. These efforts prompt Southern Dance House to create an experimental/practicing space for integrating artistic expression with local narratives and rural development, and a platform for artists' transition and exchange.
Zuo Tan Project Creative LAB
Initiated by Ergao Performance in ZuoTan Village, Shunde, China in 2024, ZuoTan Project Creative LAB is an experimental platform focusing on embodied cognition, participatory dance and cross - media practices. It explores physical participation and expression in public life through community dance programs, folklore bodiliness and site - specific creation.
The Project is consist of three units.
Artist Lab: During coexisting and dwelling in the village, interdisciplinary artists are encouraged to share knowledge and engage in collective practice.
Open for online applications from April to June each year.
Cyber Stall: Through informal knowledge exchange, invited guests share their working methods and practical experience during “late-night online chats with snacks”. Each year, curators from different fields will be invited to organize this unit.
Today’s Special: This unit presents the development of an artists’ creative research and artistic practices at Southern Dance House. Applications are accepted year-round.
