Hometown has become the imaginary past that can’t go back. But I expect to rebuild the reconnection in films and dance theatre. My father told me his childhood playmate’s first name included a Chinese character “发” (Fa/Fat). Thus I “incarnated” 发发(Fafa) and initiated an action, that is, I was frolicking with my father in rural houses in the fields of my hometown Yangjiang, Guangdong. At a certain moment, when we were piecing together/overlapping/reuniting, “I reconcile with my father and with the past, I have to work hard to grow into who I am though.”
